A-for-childcare-centreA FOCUS on providing a unique environment that incorporates the beauty of nature has helped Pachamama Early Education and Childcare in Lesmurdie earn the highest possible rating in the nation.

Centre manager Kristy Bateman said just five per cent of services exceeded the standards in all seven quality areas.

“Very few childcare services achieve an exceeding rating in all of the seven quality areas assessed under the National Quality Standard,” she said. “Our physical environment is universally acknowledged for being very unique as it incorporates natural features, sculptures, structures and fittings that create wonder and engender developing creativity.

“Also embedded within our practice is our regular observation and reflection to ensure the children’s interests are being pursued.”

Mrs Bateman said the centre would work with the University of Notre Dame to start an innovative three to four year old kindy program next year.

“To have a childcare service that has achieved this high standard is a great benefi t for the residents in the hills area,” she said.

The National Quality Framework (NQF) for early childhood education and care was agreed by all Australian governments to get better educational and development outcomes for children using education and care services.
