Childcare initiates COVID-19 procedures to stay open

LEADING childcare provider Pachamama Early Education and Childcare has started morning wellness checks in an attempt to keep the facility open for longer and keep parents at work amid COVID-19 outbreak fears.

Starting last Monday, every parent and child is having their temperature taken and their health status assessed.

Any child with a temperature 38 degrees or over or exhibiting signs of Coronavirus symptoms will not be allowed into the centre.

Pachamama director Kristen McPhail said the centre took unprecedented measures to get on top of the spread.

“Our goal is to slowdown the spread of the Coronavirus to protect the high risk members of our community, and to support our parents to continue to work,” she said.

“Many of our parents are health practitioners – doctors and nurses – that we know the community will desperately need in the days and weeks ahead.”
