As they soaped their hands and rinsed them in warm water, children at the Pachamama Early Education and Childcare Centre in the Perth Hills sang several verses of the Happy Birthday song with gusto.
Children all over the world are being taught to sing the tune twice, to make sure they wash their hands for long enough during the coronavirus pandemic.
For the children at Pachamama, it seemed like just another fun after-school activity.
But staff and the centre’s owner, Kristen McPhail, were taking hygiene very seriously.
“We’re trying to stop the spread,” she said.
