Lesmurdie child care raising the bar

A LESMURDIE child care is the first in WA to achieve the highest score under all criteria of nationally revised child care standards.

Pachamama Early Education and Childcare was the first service to be awarded with exceeding all 15 standards and 7 quality areas under the new 2018 National Quality Standards (NQS).

Owner and director Kristen McPhail said they could be the first in Australia to reach the accolade.

“Pachamama is a team of educators passionate about making a difference,” she said.

“We are honoured to be recognised as the first service in WA, if not nationwide, to be exceeding in all 15 standards across the 7 quality areas under the 2018 NQS.

“We are dedicated to continual improvement across the industry, and look forward to assisting other services.”

Last week the achievement warranted a visit from Department of Communities acting assistant director general Brad Jolly and staff from the Education and Care Regulatory Unit (ECRU).
